Interested in Gifting Shares to Camp Kawartha’s Capital Campaign?
If your shares are publicly traded, the attached direction will enable your broker to transfer the shares to the Community Foundation’s account at RBC Dominion Securities.
The Community Foundation will issue a tax receipt for the value based on the share price at the close of business, the day that the shares are deposited to the Foundation’s account. The shares are then sold and brokerage fees and any commissions, currency exchange fees, etc. are deducted by RBC before funds realized on the sale are transferred to the Foundation. A 1% Philanthropic Advisory Service Fee on the total value of the donation will be retained by the Foundation and the balance of funds received will flow through as a grant to Camp Kawartha’s Capital Campaign.
