Volunteer Opportunities
"Everybody can be great; because anybody can serve."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
There is something truly special about being able and willing to contribute to a greater good through volunteerism. Camp Kawartha is grateful for the goodwill of our volunteers, and we welcome those who would like to join our great team!
What To Expect as a Volunteer at Camp Kawartha
- You can become a vital member of a dynamic team of volunteers and staff all committed to helping children, youth, and adults learn from and engage with the Earth we all share.
- You will meet new people representing the unique nature of the very generous people and communities that make up the Kawartha Lakes region. You will build friendships and connections that will enrich your life.
- You have the opportunity to participate in our volunteer events and activities including networking functions, professional development opportunities, and our volunteer workshops.
We have two sites to choose from and several departments in which volunteers operate:
Maintenance:
Helping staff with everything from lawn mowing to plumbing repairs!
Gardening:
We have six gardens at our Clear Lake site and two at our Peterborough site, so you know we need lots of hands doing everything from planning, planting to maintaining, and harvesting!
Outdoor Education:
We welcome student placements from post-secondary or high school for enriching opportunities to help with program delivery.
Administration:
If you can bring your talents to the office you can help with anything from data entry to the Gift Store!
Fund Raising:
As a not-for-profit charity part of our revenue is generated by reaching out to the community and asking for their financial assistance, so grant research and grant writing helps us extend requests for a helping hand.
Media Relations:
Photos need to be taken and videos need to be shot so we can tell the world about the amazing things we do!
