Hi CK!! My name is Surto and this summer I am going to be one of your Waterfront Activity Directors! I am very excited to get to see all of your lovely faces on the waterfront again! I am so excited to be back at camp for my 10th year and for my 4th year on staff! One of my favourite things to do at camp is to sit on the docks, enjoy our beautiful waterfront, and read a good book! I also can’t wait to get back in a sailboat as I miss sailing around Clear Lake. When I’m not at camp I am a 2nd year student at Queen’s University in Kingston. I’m currently doing a Bachelor of Science degree and majoring in Psychology with a minor in Life Science. I also work a Crepe restaurant in downtown Kingston and have been enjoying getting restaurant experience! I am hoping to go on exchange next year to Hong Kong which will be a super exciting experience! One thing I love about the outdoors is the ability it has given us to socialize. Especially this past year, I have really enjoyed meeting up with friends and going on walks with them or just sitting in a park and talking. In order to maintain the beautiful outdoors, I make sure to try to minimize waste by recycling old furniture to either use for my house or sell. I also enjoy building furniture with my mom’s or friends, which helps to cut down on packing waste. My goal for the summer is to make sure every camper has an exciting and fulfilling return to Camp Kawartha. Let’s make this the best summer ever!
