Waterfront

Hey everyone!!!

My name is Judo (she/her), and I will the waterfront director this summer!!! This will be my 7th summer at Camp Kawartha and 4th on staff! During this past year, I have been attending Queen’s University in Kingston, majoring in environmental studies and minoring in global development. I have kept myself busy outside of my online courses by exploring different parts of Kingston, attempting to grow herbs in my kitchen, & walking down my stairs to see Surto!

One of my favorite aspects of camp is the waterfront!!! I love that there are so many different things you can do while enjoying the water! I am so happy that I will be helping ensure that all waterfront activities like swimming, boating, and sailing will be fun and safe for all campers and staff, alongside the co-waterfront activity directors. I will also be ensuring that our waterfront is safe through lifeguard training before camp and emergency training procedures throughout the summer. I have loved working as a lifeguard and lifesaving instructor for many years, and I am excited to use my experience and love of camp in my position this summer!

To protect our environment, I try to reduce my waste as much as possible by reusing food or product containers/jars, using reusable veggie/fruit bags when shopping for groceries, and buying second-hand clothing and books!

I know that this summer as camp’s 100th anniversary will be the best summer ever, & I cannot wait to see all the smiling faces at Clear Lake!
