It is with sadness that we announce the passing of the Health Coordinator torch!  After 25 years of administering the Health & Safety program, Cathy Romano passed the job on to the next generation.  Andrea Lewis received the keys to the Health Centre from Cathy in a recent ceremony.

We thank Cathy for all that she did for more than 25 years!  From organizing nurses and doctors, to caring for campers and staff;  from nursing us through a pandemic (and many other diseases) and helping put the Camp on the map with a net-zero Health Centre — Cathy has been a force of nature!  We are a healthier and safer camp thanks to Cathy’s dedication and hard work.

We are also delighted to welcome Andrea and thank her for taking the bold step forward, filling those big shoes.  Andrea grew up at Camp Kawartha as a camper, a counsellor, and the Leader in Training Director. She chose nursing as her profession and has worked in SickKids Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for many years, and now works part-time in the PRHC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit while raising two adorable kids (and future campers)!

Welcome Andrea!  We know healthcare at the Camp is in excellent hands!
