The good people at Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) also decided to support Camp Kawartha recently by hosting a golf tournament at Dragonfly Golf Links near Renfrew.
It was a marvelous day filled with great and not so great shots, good fun, and a common goal – to help us purchase the AOWT 20 Ozone system. With the occasional appearance of blue-green algae on area lakes, Camp Kawartha wants to get ahead of the curve and install this ozone system. Ozone is very effective for “oxidizing extracellular microcystin, anatoxin-a, and cylindrospermopsin”. In simple terms, it will make our drinking water system, state of the art!
The tournament raked in $5,800.00! This is a tremendous boost to our campaign, and we thank the OCWA for choosing us, we thank their supporters, the tournament organizers, and we thank the players who came out on a hot, humid day!
