logoMore than 100 outdoor educators from across the province visited our main site at Camp Kawartha for an educational retreat called Make Peace with Winter from January 20th to January 22nd
Offered by the Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario (COEO), this organization is dedicated to promoting safe and high quality-outdoor education experiences for people of all ages and, acts as a professional body for outdoor educators in the province of Ontario.
Presenters covered many topics helping teachers, students and outdoor educators develop skills to enjoy winter. Indigenous presenters shared their teachings, helping everyone explore how best to approach and respect indigenous perspectives, practices, and relationships. Camp Kawartha staff offered up many workshops on our Pathway to Stewardship and Kinship Program, animal tracking, Adventures in Understanding and others.
We thank the COEO organizers for all their hard work in pulling this together! They were all great to work with and we appreciate the time and effort that went into such a successful event.
If you have a conference on the horizon and are considering venue options, think of Camp Kawartha! We can help you make your conference an unforgettable experience.
