Adrienne Ross

Adrienne’s connection with Camp Kawartha goes back to 1978 when she attended “Scamper Camp” for new campers when it was run by the Peterborough YMCA. After a number of years away, she was reintroduced to the camp attending the Leadership in Training program in the summer of 1987. Following that summer, Adrienne became a counsellor and in subsequent years was the waterfront director and program director. Even after leaving to work at another camp for three summers, Adrienne could not stay away and returned for two years in the role of summer camp director.

Camp Kawartha is a family affair. Her uncle was a counsellor in the 1950s, her brother was a camper and staff for many years as well. Her parents often say that Camp Kawartha raised their kids! Adrienne feels that the skills, connections and friendships she developed over the years led her to a career in education and her current role as Associate Director of Admissions at Trinity College School.

Things have come full circle for Adrienne as she has worked in the outdoor education program, attended as a visiting teacher and her daughter is now part of the 3rd generation, attending day camp at the Environment Centre for the last three years. Adrienne is especially excited that her daughter will be old enough to attend one of the overnight camp sessions next year!

She is thrilled to be a part of the campaigns Alumni Division to re-connect with her friends and co-workers and to help support the legacy of the place she affectionately calls CK.
