CAMP BOYS ENTERTAINED
Are Guests of Rotary Club at Oyster Supper in the Armouries.
The boys who attended the Rotary Camp last summer were the guests of the Peterborough Rotary Club at a most enjoyable re-union held in the Armouries last evening. Each Rotarian was assigned the task of bringing one of the boys, and the result was an attendance of practically every youngster who was at camp. It was a night of enjoyment, not only for the boys but for their hosts, who intend to keep in touch with their guests throughout the winter.
The first part of the evening was devoted to indoor baseball, the youngsters being divided into two squads and two games being played at once, a make-shift diamond at the west end of the Armouries making the second game possible. Afterwards the Rotarians themselves had a battle royal, in which some new talent for the next Soft Ball League was uncovered.
Then came an oyster supper for the boys, served by Rotarian Percy Hooper and the fifty young guests attacked the good things with a vengeance, stopping long enough to sing “MacDonald’s Farm” and give their camp yell for the benefit of the Rotarians.
President John Crane welcomed the boys and remarked that they would make a good Rotary Club, for they had practically a one hundred per cent, attendance. In wishing them a merry Christmas, he hoped they would all be at Rotary Camp next summer.
One of the little guests, “Happy” O’Toole, contributed a couple of funny stories, and the affair was brought to an end with the National Anthem and three hearty cheers from the boys for the Rotary Club.
Doug Loomis and Fred McNeelv, who were in charge of the camp last summer, were among the guests.

Rotary has such a long history with the Camp! An oyster supper with the campers wouldn’t work these days – we had over 900 kids here this summer!!
