Sponshorship and Subsidies

Camp Kawartha is a registered, not-for-profit charitable organization governed by a Board of Directors. Our mission is to promote stewardship of our natural and human communities. We accomplish this through our award-winning Outdoor Education, Summer Camp and year-round environmental programming.

Our organization relies on the generosity of donors for our continuing operation. Approximately 20% of the camp’s operating budget comes through contributions from individuals, corporate donors, and from occasional project-specific foundation and government grants.

We are very grateful to all of our donors. Your support, at any level, makes a huge difference in the delivery of high-quality environmental education programs and models for sustainable living.

Our Charitable Registration Number is: 12453 9214 RR0001

Camp and Outdoor Education Sponsorship Fund

We want to help open doors…to bring children from the inside to the magic and wonder that can only be found in the natural world. Your donation provides partial and full subsidies for children from low-income families or a class from an identified school, the chance to fully participate in all that a camp experience can offer.

Testimonials

{I am so appreciative of the subsidy that allowed my daughter to take part in Camp Kawartha. As a single parent, I stress about whether or not my girls are going to get the same life experiences and opportunities as other children, and thanks to the donors at CK, my daughter got an experience I could never have provided her on my own. - Past recipient of the Summer Camp Subsidy, 2018
{As teachers, we saw such positive growth in our students over our three days here. I have been their teacher for eight months, but I have seen the most personal development, new friendships, and kids coming out of their shells this week than ever before. Students were engaged in programming and got to experience so many new things. Some student quotes: "I didn't think I would like camp, but my mom said it would be amazing and she was right" "What do I give the food? 10/10. Actually, the whole place is 10/10" "This is the best school day ever!" Thank you CK for refreshing our staff and inspiring our kids! - Keith Wightman Public School, March 2023
{We observed several of our (subsidized) students who often demonstrate low self-confidence in their learning really shine during the team-building activities. It was so great to see the way they engaged in all of the activities, and came away from activities like the parachute/trampoline absolutely beaming! Experiences like these make huge differences for many of our students. Thank you, Camp Kawartha! - St John Catholic Elementary School, January 2024
