Thanks for supporting our fundraiser!
Camp Kawartha would like to thank all the donors, sponsors, participants and volunteers who helped make the 21st annual Green-in-Motion fundraiser a success again this year. Despite a cloudy start to the day, approximately 70 participants came out and helped raise over $10,000 to send underprivileged children to our outdoor education centre and summer camp. Participants were treated to refreshments, music, and prizes.
Nine year old Grace Turney was the top individual fundraiser raising $1,464, and rode her bike all the way to Lakefield and back along with her brother and grandpa. Calling themselves “Team Grace Turney”, they earned the McAdam Cup trophy, presented to the community group or family that raises the most money.
Westmount Public School earned the Craft Cup trophy, presented to the school that raises the most funds. Westmount will add to their total raised with an in-school ‘Green’ fun day later in June.
Our top adult fundraiser, Warren G. Craft, raised $6,650 and is still going, bringing his total raised over the past 18 years to $94,500.
