Camp Kawartha is so much more than a summer camp – we are a family. We bring people together. We look out for one another. We take care of, comfort and support each other. When campers, counselors and staff members spend time at Camp Kawartha they seamlessly become a part of our family.
A member of the Camp Kawartha family, Ingrid Davidson (aka Bowie), needs our collective support. Ingrid’s battle with a serious eating disorder requires very expensive treatment and her family is reaching out to the community to raise the necessary funds to help Ingrid find health and happiness in her life.
Fondly referred to as Bowie, at Camp Kawartha, Ingrid was a camper for many years before becoming a staff member in 2008 and 2009. She’s remembered here as a wonderful counselor who was both fun-loving and empathetic to her campers’ needs. She is a great talent and we still have the photos to prove the mark she left on some of our most memorable programs. Many of our staff either worked with her or had the privilege of being her counselor when she was a camper. Perhaps she was even a counselor to some of our current campers out there.
At Camp Kawartha, we strive to make a difference in each of our campers’ lives. Once children have been touched by this place, we feel they are always part of our world, and our family, and forever leave an indelible mark on our lives.
