The Century Challenge concluded on August 31st! Participants were asked to complete 100 of something – running 100 kilometres, picking up 100 pieces of garbage, and so on.
We are delighted to report that participants ran, paddled, picked up, and helped neighbours throughout the month – and had a darn good time doing so!
“I love to run, and I never really kept track of how far I went each month, but the centennial challenge kept me motivated and on track. I wasn’t sure I’d make 100km, but it encouraged me to get outside and push just a bit more each time. Thanks Camp Kawartha for putting this together and helping me celebrate your 100 years in a memorable way.” Fiona Lasenby
Prizes were offered with the sponsorship of Lynn Woodcroft of Royal LePage FRANK Real Estate! We extend a warm thank you to Lynn for supporting the Challenge in this way!
The Grand Prize of $100.00 and a Camp 100th Anniversary Hoodie went to Carlotta James!
First Runner Up, winner of $50.00 and an Anniversary ball cap went to Fiona Lasenby
Second Runner Up was Gord Fallen who won $25.00 and an embroidered Anniversary badge.
Thanks to all who participated! All the participant names will be engraved on a beautiful wooden plaque which will be mounted in the Camp’s Dining Hall – for 100 years, we hope!!
