29 years ago the average cost of a house was $130,000, the Prime Minister was Brian Mulroney, the Calgary Flames won the Stanley Cup and the Surf ‘n’ Turf was a brand new fundraiser for Camp Kawartha. On June 23rd, 2018 we wrapped up our latest version, and without doubt it continues to be one of the longest-running and most popular fundraisers in the region!
We wish to thank our many item donors who supported our live and silent auctions. Our sponsors, who were such a big part of the event, included The Publican House, Black’s Distillery, Rusland Auctions, and Brian Bulger, the Insurance Guy – thank you all. And of course, thanks to the many staff and volunteers who were fantastic!! We could not have done it without them!
And certainly we thank our many guests who are the engine that makes this event go! It was an amazingly good time, and you helped us raise more than $35,000.00!
Believe it or not, the 30th edition of the Surf ‘n’ Turf is in the planning stage and set for Saturday, June 22nd under the tent! Make your calendars, and we hope to see you there.
