Pazma

Assistant Day Camp Director

Let me send out a big warm welcome to our CK campers, family and parents of 2021! My name is Pazma, I use she/her pronouns and this year I will be Assistant Day Camp Director, here at Camp Kawartha. This will be my 3rd year at camp and 2nd year on staff. If I look familiar, perhaps you remember me as a Kinder Camp counsellor; I cannot wait to bring my Kinder Camp experience to Day Camp! I started my camp experience at CK as a LIT and grew to know CK as a second home. Working at CK has provided me with immeasurable joy and fantastic memories; the absolute best summers of my life! Camp is a place where kids can be kids again, free of stress and responsibility. They get to reconnect with nature and try new things they never thought possible. When I’m not at Camp, I’m a 2nd year Women and Gender Studies major, with a minor in History at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS. I’m looking forward to either pursuing law or early childhood education afterwards. One thing about nature is there is always something to discover. I am in constant awe of the intricacy and power Mother Nature possesses. At camp, my favourite outdoor activities include exploring the Wetlands and watching sunrises on the dock. This summer, I am hoping to reduce my carbon footprint. Hopefully, with less travel and more conscious choices, I will be successful in my goal. I am beyond excited to be returning to camp this summer, to see campers’ smiling faces (masked of course), but more importantly, to see each and every camper grow as people. My goals for Summer 2021 are to have fun, be safe and have the best summer yet!
