Workshop: Relationships within Ecosystems
September 10 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm$15
Plants work with each other as well as other living and non-living elements in their environment to secure a healthy niche in their ecosystem. We will look at these relationships and discuss how we can encourage them in our gardening practices and designs. Our time in the garden will be spent ensuring that the herbs, flowers and fruit bushes we planted this spring are healthy and pest and weed free.
Instructor: Cathy Hooper, Master Gardener and Permaculture Designer
This workshop is part of the Edible Landscaping Workshop Series.
Each workshop involves both a lesson and hands-on experience in a garden. We will all work together to prepare, plant and maintain the garden at the Environment Centre. This allows participants time to ask questions about the process and time to get to know each other and the land as well as our plants and their needs. Teachings are in the permaculture style which incorporates ideas of organic, small scale, intensive, holistic and sustainable living and gardening.
