Workshop: Weeds and Pests
June 11 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm$15
June is the best time for weeding around our newly seeded plants as well as ensuring that our young herbs and fruit bushes are healthy and resistant to pests. We will discuss how to control weed populations and how to deal with insects that can damage or destroy our plants.
Instructor: Cathy Hooper, Master Gardener and Permaculture Designer
This workshop is part of the Edible Landscaping Workshop Series.
Each workshop involves both a lesson and hands-on experience in a garden. We will all work together to prepare, plant and maintain the garden at the Environment Centre. This allows participants time to ask questions about the process and time to get to know each other and the land as well as our plants and their needs. Teachings are in the permaculture style which incorporates ideas of organic, small scale, intensive, holistic and sustainable living and gardening.
