“Earth laughs in flowers…” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
During each workshop we will meet several plants, or the same plants at a different stage of growth. We’ll learn about plant identification features & what you can learn from a plant through taste, touch and smell. In this series we’ll focus on the local plant species and how & when to harvest them for medicine. We’ll make some form of herbal medicine during each workshop that you’ll be able to bring home with you! Come out and enjoy a morning walk with the medicine plants of Peterborough and herbalist Nicole Cameron.
Workshops will take place outside and require a moderate level of walking through diverse terrain. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring your lunch & water. Rain or shine!
Workshops run from 9 am – 1 pm
Workshops are $45 each (including materials) or $120 for all three.
Join us for 1, 2, or all 3 workshops at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre, Peterborough.
Maximum of 8 participants per workshop.
From the moment I noticed how my body & feelings changed when I drank Catnip tea I fell deeply in love with the medicine plants and the beauty that they so generously share. Seven years ago I took part in the one-year Holistic Healing certificate offered by The Living Earth School and Herbalist Michael Vertolli, and since I have been growing & making medicine for my family and friends. I also run a small business making natural body care products and herbal remedies called Dandaura Naturals. I love this time of year and feel inspired to share my enthusiasm about local healing plants with anyone who’d like to take a walk with me!
